HELSINKI DESIGN WEEK 2016
Saija Halko and Tuuli Saarelainen exhibit their visions of food culture, where new characteristics for everyday tools are achieved by various materials and techniques. Topics and designs originate from two young designers’ way of being and doing: quietness, delicateness and locality.
Techniques and material research play a crucial role as the making methods vary from ceramic 3D-printing to the traditional craft of throwing. The entirety strongly looks into the contemporary design, but also asks a question: how the table will be set in the future?
